The reviewer who recommended buying a half size smaller was spot-on for me. A 10 1/2 D has been my “go to” shoe for most of my life. Lately I have found 44 European more dependable size-wise. When I opened the box it smelled leather.While it is a very casual look, it still is more than just another black "tennis shoe". It has a distinct heel, and a classic leather pattern. It has a slight shine when polished, but watch out that you don't polish the brand label. The shoe will stay comfortable whether I spend my day standing or at a desk doing work. It is a good shoe for those who have need of medium support. It's not so much support as to make shoe uncomfortable. I have tried both brown and black and they both look great. I have not tried the new-buck, but I am thinking about it! They may be on the expensive side for younger shoppers, but experienced shoppers know that quality makes all the difference.
